Last Friday, NetBlocks, a watchdog organization that monitors the governance of the internet, noted a steep decline in Gaza's internet connectivity. Об этом сообщается на сайте инструмента Cisco BGPMon, использующегося для мониторинга информации о маршрутах. Первоначально инцидент произошел с автономной системой Vodafone (AS55410) в Индии, однако в итоге затронул и крупные компании в США, включая Google, сообщает BleepingComputer. В результате система ошибочно объявила о поддержке более 30 тысяч маршрутов BGP, из-за чего через нее начало проходить больше трафика, чем она могла обработать. Специалисты считают, что такие сервисы собирают конфиденциальную информацию о пользователях: историю поиска, логины и пароли, информацию о совершенных платежах.
